Cassadaga

Last weekend my friend and I decided to take a trip to Central Florida. She had visited this little town, more of a camp actually, called Cassadaga, and had her own life-changing experience. I knew, from the moment she told me about it, that I needed to go there.

I was not disappointed.

Cassadaga is a Spiritualist camp that is owned and run exclusively by mediums. When you arrive at the town, you can head to the bookstore/town center and see what mediums are working for the day. If you don't find anyone that you're drawn to, there are business cards at the bottom of the white board that give the information for every medium in the camp.

My friend had nothing but amazing things to say about the medium she'd met with in July, and, as if guided by fate, her name was on the board when we arrived. I called her up and headed straight over to her house for my reading.

I've always been a skeptic about things like that, but I tried to remain open during my reading. Man, did it work. She knew things about me that no one would know unless I'd told them. It was a half an hour of her reading into my past and giving me advice to direct me towards my best possible future. I walked out of there amazed, and a total believer.

We spent the rest of the day eating at the hotel and taking an amazing guided tour (we were the only patrons) with a really friendly and talkative guide. He told us the history of Cassadaga, and told us stories of the many people and mediums that came in and out of the area over the years.

There was such a calm feeling surrounding the place. I found that, when I left, I wished that I was still there, breathing in that air.
