Art Basel is over as fast as it arrived and, bummer of all bummers, I was sick on the only free days I had to go explore the galleries! I'll just have to make up for it next year by going to tons of the events.

I went to brunch with my old roommate (just before the peak of my illness), and since I had every intention of hitting the shows after brunch I wore something comfortable yet polished, and put on this gorgeous necklace from The HiRode that I won on an Etsy Instagram contest. I also had to step up my game because she is just as style-conscious as I am.

The necklace is so beautiful, too. It's simple, very bohemian and goes with practically everything! The Blue Quartz used in this necklace symbolizes purification, trust, respect and patience. All things I could use a little more of in my life. I'm exceedingly impatient... I blame my type A personality.

Having a simple statement necklace can really elevate a look, and a long chain like this one draws the eye downward to lengthen (and show off a little cleavage if you're sporting a lower-cut neckline).

I put the link to the necklace above in the outfit details, just in case you want to make it your own. It's already extremely affordable, but if you're looking for something cheaper I'd grab this Forever 21 version I selected below.
