Wow, guys, it's June! How have the months gone by so quickly? I can hardly believe it.

Have you done your spring cleaning yet? If you've been following me on Snapchat (@theluxelion) you'll know that I went through, not one, but TWO rounds of closet cleaning. The first one was my usual type of closet clean out. I just got rid of everything that was easy to let go.

A month or two later, I still felt stifled by the amount of clothes around me. Between a closet in the bathroom, a rack in my room and a rack in the living room (all full, mind you), I was practically getting pushed out of my apartment by my clothes! While perusing Pinterest I just so happened to stumble upon un-fancy.com's capsule collection... and it was love.

I spent that weekend editing my wardrobe down to 50 pieces per season (I'm shooting for less, but it's a start). Three garbage bags full of clothes and a box of shoes said goodbye... not to mention the garbage bag of shoes and clothes that were too damaged or ripped to give away. A pair of Jeffrey Campbell kitten heels that I haven't worn since 2010? Gone. That cocktail dress I wore once and shoved to the back of my closet? Gone.

Why? I want to live with intention. I want to collect things that I truly love, pieces that I'll actually wear. I don't want to be weighed down by consumerism, materialism and hoarding. What a pain. By living this way I can stay true to being luxe, because I'll have more cash to spend on those really intentional purchases.

So that's what I've been up to the last couple of weeks. Also, I hope you like this look! All of these pieces made the cut because, come on, sneakers and plaid. You can't go wrong.
