Flashback Friday: My Style Through the Blogging Years

The year was 2009. My style consisted of jeans and Gator tees (my own version of a lucky charm to get in to UF... don't knock it, I got in). When I wasn't in Gator tees I was in this simple gray dress with a keyhole back and tons of chunky accessories.

I would still wear that dress. Definitely swapping the accessories, though.

Oh man, 2012. The tail end of my sorority girl days. I wore this look to informational interviews downtown, and looking back on it it's SO sorority girl meets Great Britain. That frilly collar, those riding boots. THE TUXEDO JACKET. Oh my God.

When I first started this blog in 2013, my wardrobe was extremely limited. I packed up a couple suitcases and was waiting to establish myself back in Florida before sending the rest of my things down, so it all came to layering layering layering. That's how I made my outfits all look different. I wish I had kept that skill up. I don't layer like I used to.

It did make for some VERY weird outfits, though.

I still love this outfit from 2014, but probably because it was more daring of me, fashion-wise. Too many layers and too many patterns came together for this look, so if I were going to recreate it, I'd probably take off and swap out a few elements. For example, either tons of accessories OR pattern mixing. Otherwise it's just too much to look at.

As soon as I bought this crop top, I wore it with EVERYTHING on the weekends. This look is a particular favorite of mine. It's edgy, but not too edgy. Casual, but not too casual. I'd definitely still wear this today.

My style started refining itself come the later part of 2014. I seriously reduced the amount of layering I did and just stuck to sleek silhouettes and simple looks. This also works well if you're trying to pack light, like I was during my friend's wedding.

That time I chopped my hair off in 2014. Then I bought a tulle skirt for the holidays because I'm a ballerina in my head. I'm just digging this look all-around.

This was probably the peak of my Palm Beach feminine phase I was going through. Flirty dress, girly heels and a Kate Spade on my arm. A girl's gotta have options, you guys.

This is the ULTIMATE Miami-style game day look. I 100% used to make fun of the girls in short shorts and crop tops for games. Little did I know that the Miami sun would get to me, and I'd turn into one of those girls. When in Rome.

This look is the epitome of my style right now. Feminine, edgy but also tailored. I don't overload my looks with accessories (though I'm still a fan of an occasional arm party) and I try to keep everything more true to my style instead of someone else's.
