Dress: Urban Outfitters (similar). Shoes: Franco Sarto. Bag: Badgley Mischka (also love this one).

I don't believe that red, white and blue needs to be cheesy. Sometimes all it takes is a classic striped maxi and a red tote to feel perfectly Americana with a little French twist. Perfect to celebrate Independence Day.

G and I celebrated our anniversary this weekend, and we headed over to the Blue Harmony Spa at the Shelborne Wyndham Grand on South Beach. I would like to say we had an amazing experience, but not everything in Miami can be a gem, right?

First off, the spa incorrectly booked our service and then instead of correcting the error, forced us to pay an escalated price and attempted to throw in a "complimentary" bath and glass of champagne to make up for it (P.S., guys, it's not complimentary if you're paying $50 more than you should have for it). On our way out, the valet claimed that their card reader was down, which meant G had to go over to their ATM to get cash. After driving off, he realized that he had dropped his wallet at the valet, and by the time we got back all of the cash had been stolen from his wallet.

So if you're looking for a luxurious Miami experience, I sadly can't recommend the Shelborne. On the plus side, I had an awesome massage and the bath was lovely. The hotel itself isn't bad-looking, either. Hey, the best laid plans of mice and men, right?
