After a brief July 4th intermission, we're back to the NYC posts!

When I lived here I didn't do a lot of the "touristy" stuff. I frequented Central Park and my grandfather would take me to the Yale and University Club (the latter was a special Christmas-only stop), but the only times I ever did anything truly touristy was heading over to Times Square with my friends during middle school and high school. That was back when Virgin Mobile had a store instead of Toys R' Us.

Even post-college I never really bothered. My favorite spots have always been the West Village and Soho, maybe because my brief tenure living in Manhattan was in West Village and my ultra-cool aunt would take me to Soho for shopping trips back when it was filled with art galleries and expensive designer shops.

But I digress... during my trip with G I decided we'd do something touristy, especially because it's not very often I can get his butt up here. So we walked down to the Brooklyn Bridge for a healthy dose of tourist behavior. We then walked up to Chinatown, through Little Italy and then back to Hotel Indigo in the Lower East Side. A quick outfit change and we were ready for a night full of smooth cocktails and delicious food.

Stay tuned for my NYC weekend round up!

  1. FUN! I've never been on the Brooklyn Bridge, but when I see it I always think of Sex and the City...the movie when Miranda and Steve have to meet on it!
