I bought this dress for my father's wedding about a year and a half ago, and I haven't worn it much since then. There just never seemed to be an appropriate time, and if you don't wear it right it can come off as too gothic. I think it's the bell sleeves that give it a really dramatic look.

Yesterday it just called to me. You know how when you don't wear something you love for long enough, it's just begging to be styled? Well, that's what I had to do for brunch. The challenge was making it look soft. I made sure all of my accessories were light and not too domineering. It broke up the black enough to make it brunch-appropriate, and I was able to bring the dress back into my rotation.

Now that I've re-worn it, I can't wait to bring it back out.

  1. Cute dress! I think the belt definitely did the job of dressing it down with the belt -- doesn't look too gothic, at all :)
